It was Erik’s day off this week. He had his final tattoo appointment today for his collarbone piece, pictures will be posted at the end of this post. I’m having a bout of writer’s block today, so this may end up being a bunch of pieced together ramblings. I think, honestly, I may just gush about our tattoo artist and how much we adore him.

Tyler Pritchett. Look him up. His portfolio is phenomenal, but it pales in comparison to his work in person. Tyler is 26, married, and has two kids. He’s an incredible artist and has such a gift. I have referred everyone I know to him, because I can’t even imagine going to anyone else for work. But not only is Tyler an amazing tattoo artist, he’s just such a fantastic person. Erik apparently met Tyler’s wife, Heather, today. According to him, we are destined to be good friends. Erik and Tyler could be brothers, considering their interests in music and movies and books, it’s insane. His kids are spanned about the same distance apart as ours, with his girl being the oldest. We just totally relate to him and his family. His heart is in the right place, and that is surprising down here. We just do not have enough nice things to say. I could go on and on about how we hope they move into our apartment complex in order to spend time with them as a family.

I’m going to post a few pictures of his work, and please tell me how beautiful it is. He has such talent and is so personable. He’s a committed, loving husband. He’s a devoted father. He’s one of those guys who is tatted up with a messed up childhood, but turned out to be an outstanding person. I feel honored to know him and to have a piece of his work. We can’t wait to get more.

A Taurus tattoo by Tyler

This is apparently a Circa Survive tattoo.

Not sure what this is, but I love it.

Dead girl, love it.

The final product from Erik’s piece. The left fish represents Margot, and the right fish represents Erik. This piece is a reworking of the crappy work of another “tattoo artist”, but look at how gorgeous it is now!

Seriously, if you’re ever in the neighborhood and need a tattoo, make an appointment with Tyler. You will not regret it. He is amazing. We have so much respect for him.
